The one movie event that the world is waiting together for is Avengers: Endgame. The movie was shot alongside its prequel, Avengers: Infinity War, but next to no details about it were made public. Not even the title. To learn the name of the film, dubbed by the internet as Avengers 4 until the revelation, was only confirmed when the first trailer of the film dropped on December 7, 2018. Now, the producer of the films, Kevin Feige has revealed the big reason behind this super secrecy, but we are not entirely convinced by it. Kevin said that they didn't want to spoil the ending of Infinity War by revealing its sequel to be Endgame.

Kevin, while talking to Collider writer, Steve Weintraub, during a press meet for the ready-to-release Captain Marvel. The producer was asked why Endgame was kept under wraps and he answered, "Well, I think I’d said that it all had gotten blown out of proportion to some extent. But it was a spoiler, because if you knew before 'Infinity War' came out that the next movie was called Endgame, then you know that there wasn’t an ending to Infinity War,"

Marvel Studios refused to reveal the title of the film even after Avengers: Infinity War had a very good run in the theatres and pretty much everyone knew how the movie ended on a cliffhanger. So, clearly, Marvel also had a role to play in the said 'blown out of proportion'. Adding to Marvel's role, director duo Russo Bros were even directly asked, by a journalist, if the title of Avengers 4 was said in Infinity War, and they flatly denied. 

When as a matter of fact, Endgame was a part of the most famous dialogue from Infinity War spoken by the character, Doctor Strange.

"But that had been the title of the movie from the moment we conceived of doing the two films. In large part, because it’s seeded right there. I mean, it’s seeded in Ultron,” Feige added at the recent press meet.

The movie gained immense hype by keeping its title, Avengers: Endgame, a secret until last minute. The name doesn't really work as a spoiler for Infinity War, knowing very well that the two movies were interconnected ever since the production began. Come up with a better explanation, maybe.
