Keanu Reeves, our favourite action hero, has been eyed by Disney and Sony for their upcoming superhero properties. But it looks like Sony might beat Disney to rope in the Matrix and John Wick star, even if he could play a part in their shared Marvel universe. If a report in Illuminerdi has to be believed, Sony has approached Keanu Reeves to play the lead role in the upcoming Kraven the Hunter movie. Also, yeah, the movie would be called only Kraven. The dealings are still going on, and the actor has not yet signed the dotted line, so wait for the announcement from the studios in a few days' time. The same report also mentions that Kraven the Hunter movie would be made in the vein of Hugh Jackman's Logan and Denzel Washington's Man on Fire. This means it could be a dark somber revenge saga with plenty of action. With Reeves most probably cast as Kraven, we certainly don't expect anything less.

Kraven the Hunter would be set in Sony's Spider-verse, produced by Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad, and would be the third film to focus on a Spidey villain, after Venom and Morbius. It is still not confirmed if Tom Holland's Peter Parker aka MCU's Spider-Man would have a role in the movie, considering Kraven's biggest ambition is to hunt down Spider-man as a trophy. As per certain reports, Kraven the movie would be inspired by his most famous storyline The Last Hunt. JC Chandor of Margin Call and Triple Frontier fame is reportedly directing Kraven, the release date of which has not been confirmed yet. Watch this space for more updates on the movie.

As for Reeves, he is busy with two huge franchise sequels - The Matrix 4, simply titled Matrix, and John Wick 4. Indian actress Priyanka Chopra will also be having an undisclosed but important role in Matrix.
