The latest Jurassic Park movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, has been doing some really brisk business at the worldwide box office. Capitalising on our nostalgic love for dinosaurs and more so, for the first Jurassic Park movie, JW2 has turned out to be a success despite the low critical acclaim. It has become the third movie of 2018 to enter the $1 billion movie club this year, after Marvel's Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. This is also the second Jurassic Park movie to reach this milestone after 2015's Jurassic World.

As per a report in Forbes, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has earned $1.005 billion worldwide. It is the 35th movie to get into the billion-dollar club, above The Dark Knight and below Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. In the US, the movie has grossed $300 million at the box office. It is getting tough competition from Disney's latest movie, Incredibles 2, another movie that is most likely to score more than a $1 billion at the box office.

Directed by JA Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the lead with Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Isabella Sermon, and Geraldine Chaplin. Jeff Goldblum has a cameo in the movie, where he reprises his character of Dr Ian Malcolm from the Jurassic Park franchise. The movie received mixed reviews on release, where the critics praised Bayona's direction and the thrilling first half, but criticised the contrived script and a lame second half. Jurassic World 3 will release on June 11, 2021, with Colin Trevorrow (who made the first JW movie) returning to direct.
