The first teaser trailer for Todd Phillips’ upcoming horror film Joker was released today and the video has taken the fans by a chilling grip. Joaquin Phoenix brings one of the most iconic villains to life. However, what has caught the phenomenal attention is that this film, unlike the previous iterations of the Joker, travels through the origin of the character. According to the reports, the movie is said to take inspirations from Martin Scorsese, particularly his 1982 dark comedy The King of Comedy.

The first look at the video and we are half their to sympathise over the character. But then, then reveals the darker picture and takes us by the horror. The wicket smile and horrifying laughter echo across the brutality of the character and we are wondering whether to fear or feel sorry for Arthur.

The trailer essays the life of Arthur as he eventually sides into madness. The supporting cast also has a significant role to play and the 1980’s version of Gotham City is a sheer delight to the DC fans. From bringing a little joy in this world to hiding behind a happy face, Arthur shows us the world through his eyes.
