Warner Bros and DCEU have been doing pretty well since Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam! standalone films surfaced in recent years. Joker's standalone film starring Joaquin Phoenix is also set to release soon this year. As he takes up the role of Arthur Fleck who turns into the fearsome DC villain, Joker, Todd Phillips has an interesting take on the character. While the film is set to release on October, the makers have released a few more clips ahead of it as Phillips announces when the trailer will be released next. Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Will Be R-Rated, Confirms Director Todd Phillips

Although some of the clips have already been shared in the first trailer, notably Phoenix's look as the Clown Prince of Crime who dances away on the dreary steps of Gotham City, a victory dance maybe? Additional new clips include the one specific scene where Phoenix as Arthur Fleck enters his fridge while his dingy house is in a chaotic mess. As Fleck manages to fit himself in the fridge, the door refuses to remain shut. Perhaps this scene is to indicate the tragic lonesome life that Fleck led before he turned things around to become the antagonist. Phillips has affirmed that he has not taken a leaf out of the comic books. Check out the clips below. Joaquin Phoenix Looks Unbelievable As The Joker For The Upcoming Todd Philips Film - Watch Video

Set to release on October 4, this year, Phillips and Joaquin's attempt to give DC's Joker a whole new backstory might be fruitful. The script has been penned down by Phillips along with Scott Silver. The film centres around DC Comics' iconic antagonist with a whole new angle to his past and future. It explores the filmmaker's idea of how Arthur Fleck, a man disregarded by society, is fearsome. A cautionary tale with gritty characters and the darkness of Gotham City.
