Among other box office records that the film has created, it also became the biggest October opening weekend in movie history as it collected $93.5 million across its first three days in wide release. The Oscar hopeful became a rage ever since its trailers featuring Phoenix as the comic book history's deadliest villains was released. The DC movie received immense praises for the actor's performance who is expected to be an Academy Award nominee for the same.

As for Warner Bros this the seventh film to cross $1 billion behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($1.34B), Aquaman ($1.148B), Lord of the Rings: Return of the King ($1.12B), Dark Knight Rises ($1.08B), Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey ($1.01B), and Dark Knight ($1B) as reported by Deadline.
