Let us admit it that the X-Men movies won't be the same without Hugh Jackman. The actor retired from playing the superhero, Wolverine, after the film, Logan in 2017. The movie remains one of the rare X-Men movies to receive widespread critical acclaim. The actor began playing the role with the first X-Men movie that came out in 2000. Yes for 17 years the actor kept playing the role in multiple films. Which is why he has now received a Guinness World Record certificate. The actor was surprised by the organisation with the certificate on the TV show, This Morning. To be noted, Hugh shares this award.
How can we forget that Sir Patrick Stewart also played the superhero Professor X in the movie franchise for as long as Hugh? Patrick and Hugh share the record of the longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero.
This does make us happy, but truth be told, we'd rather have the actors return to the X-Men films than this record. Well, records are meant to be broken, and there will be nothing better than if the actors do it themselves. The next chapter in the X-Men film series will be out in 2019. The movie titled Dark Phoenix will revolve its story on Jean Grey going rogue and acquiring a destructive alter ego. Which also was the plot of X-Men: The Last Stand. Let us hope the reaction to Dark Phoenix is better than what The Last Stand had to face.
