After rebooting beloved classics such as Aladdin and The Lion King, Disney chief Bob Iger has now confirmed that some other classics will now be 'reimagined'. Not just this, Iger confirmed that classics like Home Alone, Night at the Museum, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid will be rebooted on Disney's own streaming channel, Disney+, which will launch later this year. According to the Disney Chief, they want these reboots to make the films relatable for the new generation. This announcement hasn't gone well with fans and especially since the name of Home Alone has come up. Disney to Reboot Classic Films for Streaming Service Disney+.
The Home Alone franchise, which premiered in 1990, followed the misadventures of Kevin McCallister played by Macaulay Culkin. The story revolved around Kevin being left alone after his family forgets to bring him on their Christmas vacation. The was a huge success and till today remains to be a favourite for 90s kids.
Fans of the franchise are certainly unhappy with this decision of Disney and have taken to social media to share their angst against this. It’s unclear still whether the Home Alone reboot will feature its star, Macaulay Culkin. Here are some twitter reactions about the film.

How is Disney going to remake Home Alone, with all the technological advancements in the past 30 years? Kevin would probably be playing Fortnite when Harry and Marv break in & cops would be called because there's no way an 8 year old could be distracted from gaming #HomeAlone pic.twitter.com/rUYmYzo87f

#HomeAlone Just what people asked for...a remake of "Home Alone." Reasoning: "For a new generation?" Remember when original films transcended generations? Would be cool to have some new, original films for future generations to enjoy.
