Mark Wahlberg is celebrating his 48th birthday today. Although he already had some short celebrations on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and with his friends and family flocking over to his plush residence, today is the actual day he turns 48! Wahlberg managed to find fame as an action actor thanks to his plethora of films!

Apart from being a celebrated actor, Wahlberg is also a producer, businessman, model, rapper and a songwriter! Clearly, he's got his plate full! Wahlberg is also a full-time awesome dad who just managed to get a trainer for his 9-year-old daughter. Now we do like how brilliant his career graph is with him trying his hand in various other fields but we would like to talk about his films! Here are five of his best films!

The Departed

Well, with a cast so impressive and directed like Martin Scorsese, it is not surprising that Wahlberg too showcased his acting prowess. He played a cop with a terrible temper and amazing skills!

Boogie Nights

For those who aren't aware of the theme of this film, Wahlberg plays a famous pornstar, with the porn industry being the backdrop of the Paul Thomas Anderson film. He played the main lead in the film.

Basketball Diaries

With an ensemble cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Wahlberg plays his friend in the film. The movie centres around a good high school basketball player who ends up in the ditch as his addiction takes over his life.

The Fighter

If Academy Awards and nominations aren't enough to sell the prominence of this film then we don't know what else can! The story revolves around a recovering cocaine addict who s trying to get his boxing career back on track with the help of his older half-brother.

Three Kings

The film does have good ratings on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Wahlberg teamed up with George Clooney for this film which has a backdrop of the Persian Gulf War. Basically, the soldiers want to go back home rich and end up being mired in a big adventure!
