Life would sound monumentally better if it was scored by Hans Zimmer. Imagine, heading out for your school or workplace, with epic music by him playing in your ears. Zimmer makes scenes look infinitely better with his music. Today, he turns 63. On Hans Zimmer's birthday, we are going to talk about his best music. Over the years, Hans has bagged many notable awards. He won his first Oscar for The Lion King in 1994. He has been nominated by the Academy multiple times for movies like Inception, Interstellar, Sherlock Holmes, Rain Man, Dunkirk. Zimmer has also won at the Grammys and Golden Globes.

Since the '80s, he has composed the music for over 150 films. And it was extremely tough to narrow it down to a few choices. Even with so many achievements and global popularity, Zimmer remains humble and grounded. He has said, "I write film music. I don't do brain surgery. I don't cure cancer. I just write a little bit of film music." So, let us celebrate the genius of this artist by listening to some of his best scores.

Inception

Zimmer's tryst with director Christopher Nolan has always resulted in something out of the ordinary. The soundtrack of this time-bending film about a dreamscape had to be just as fantastical, yet grounded in reality. The boom from the film earned a cult status now.

Interstellar

Another epic movie by Nolan. Another epic soundtrack by Zimmer. In this film about interplanetary travel, the music is soulful. While the score completely compliments the sci-fi elements with thrilling beats, it also adds calming tunes for the film bustling with emotional overtones.

The Dark Knight Rises

The scores for all the films in the Dark Knight trilogy are impressive, but the final film's soundtrack takes the cake. Every piece created by Zimmer feels like a crescendo, for the grand conclusion of this fan-favourite film series. The chants from the prison, known as the Pit, are haunting and empowering at the same time.

The Ring

Zimmer can do wonders with every genre. In this slow-burning horror film, Zimmer composed the theme music ("Rachel's Quest") of a lifetime. It was creepy and elevated the atmospheric horror.

A controversial choice, but you have to give credit to Zimmer. His score was the best thing about ths X-Men film making it bearable.
