Legendary's MonsterVerse has a different story to tell altogether. Even though they only have a couple of entries till now, both the movies - the 2014 film Godzilla and the 2017 film Kong: Skull Island - have been hits at the box office. This week, we will be seeing the sequel to the Godzilla film in a theatre near us. And what's more this time, Godzilla is fighting not one but three popular adversaries - Mothra, Rodan, and King in the film.

The Plot
Here's the official synopsis of Godzilla: King of the Monsters - "The heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance."
The Cast
Stranger Things fame Millie Bobby Brown is playing the lead in the film, headlining an ensemble cast of popular Hollywood and television stars. Godzilla: King of the Monsters also stars Kyle Chandler (Bloodline), Vera Farmiga (Conjuring series), Bradley Whitford (Cabin in the Woods), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Aisha Hinds (Assault on Precinct 13), O'Shea Jackson Jr (Straight Outta Compton), David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck), and Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water) and Ken Watanabe (Detective Pikachu) will also be returning from the previous Godzilla movie.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is reportedly made on a budget of $200 million.
Box Office Predictions
As per certain reports, the movie is expected to gross around $50 million in its opening weekend in US itself.

The Sequel
The followup to Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be Godzilla vs. Kong. There are also talks for a prequel about how humanity had their first interaction with Godzilla.
