So far it is not clear whether the makers are planning for several locations to shoot the prequel. Speaking about the prequel, George RR Martin told Entertainment Weekly, “Westeros is a very different place. There’s no King’s Landing. There’s no Iron Throne. There are no Targaryens — Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built. We’re dealing with a different and older world and hopefully, that will be part of the fun of the series.” The story is based thousands of years ahead of the GoT events. Game of Thrones's prequel is a joint collaboration of Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class) and director S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) The ensemble cast has been revealed and it includes, Naomi Watts (King Kong) along with Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Miranda Richardson, Josh Whitehouse, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Alex Sharp and Toby Regbo.
Meanwhile, author George RR Martin is focussing on completing the next book which, he claims, will be released by next year. He also stated that perhaps one of the suggestions for the title of the show is The Long Night. Interestingly, that is the title of the third episode of Game of Thrones' eighth (and final) season.
