Game of Thrones has garnered favourable reviews for the past 7 seasons. The HBO show is TV royalty. Fans across the globe bowed down to its marvel. Things took a sharp U-turn with season 8, though. The internet is brimming with rage from viewers who are dissatisfied as to how the show is ending. In fact, the former-GoT fans are so enraged that a petition has been going viral demanding the reshoot of season 8. A petition which now has over a million signatures. Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays the character of Bran Stark on the show is not amused by the petition but has taken offence. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor called the petition 'ridiculous' and 'absurd'. Well, it is definitely less harsh than the things fans are calling the final season. Isaac was asked about the petition to redo Game of Thrones season 8 and he replied, "It's ridiculous that people think they can just demand a different ending because they don't like it. I have stupidly taken it quite personally, which obviously I shouldn't. The most amount of criticism was drawn by Game of Thrones 8 for suddenly transforming Daenerys Targaryen into a villain. Isaac defends that as well. "I don't think it's some plot twist to be shocking for the sake of shocking. I think it's a genuine character development," he said.
"If people really, really hate this season? Then so be it. But it's been seven or eight years of absolutely brilliant television that captivated the world, that's encouraged debate, that's launched multiple water-cooler conversations on Monday mornings at work," the actor, who plays a character on the show famous for knowing-it-all, said. Game of Thrones is based on the books by George R R Martin. You can watch the 8 seasons of GoT on Hotstar in India.
