Galentine's Day totally started from a pop culture reference when a sitcom called Parks and Recreation had an entire episode celebrating the day in the year 2010. The episode became immensely popular and the Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler states its a day of "Ladies celebrating ladies." Since then it started as a pop culture celebration and has been carried on as a  reminder for women to support and uplift one another.
