Former Silicon Valley Star TJ Miller Arrested for Fake Bomb Threat Call
Miller was later released on a $100,000 bond, according to authorities.
Standup comedian and actor TJ Miller has found himself in a new spot of bother. Miller was arrested by the New York police after he was picked up from the LaGuardia Airport, as per a report in The Hollywood Reporter. The actor has been accused of allegedly making a fake bomb threat call on March 18.
A press release from the US Attorney for the District of Connecticut confirms this as it said Miller was arrested for "intentionally conveying to law enforcement false information about an explosive device on a train traveling to Connecticut." If convicted, Miller faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years. As per the report in THR, Miller had called 922 and informed the authorities that a female was carrying a bomb in her bag in the train that he was travelling from Washington, DC toward Penn Station in New York City.
When the train he mentioned was stopped at a station and was searched by the bomb squad, so such lady or bomb was found. The funniest bit was Miller was travelling on a completely different train.
THR quotes an attendant from the train in which Miller was supposed to travel, that he "appeared intoxicated upon boarding in Washington, that he consumed multiple drinks on the train, and that he had been removed in New York owing to his intoxication. The attendant also advised that Miller had been involved in hostile exchanges with a woman who was sitting in a different row from him in the first class car."
Miller was later released on a $100,000 bond, according to authorities.
Miller, who is most known for his role as Erich Bachmann in the popular series Silicon Valley, had walked out of the show by the end of its fourth season. Though it was not mentioned then as to why, the makers of the show later alleged that he was often drunk on sets and was very uncooperative. Miller was also accused of sexual misconduct by a couple of his college-mates. He was last seen in Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One and is due to appear in Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool 2.
