The Central Board of Film Certification in India is known to make noise every now and then as they make the cuts in upcoming films. While in most cases, it is the usage of cuss words or nudity and drug use that gets targetted, in a shocking move, the upcoming Hollywood release, Ford V Ferrari starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale has blurred scenes of alcohol bottles and glasses. Yes, the CBFC has asked the makers to blur out pictures of alcohol bottles and glasses containing alcohol from the frame as reported by Huffpost India. Ford v Ferrari Movie Review: Christian Bale, Matt Damon Set the Trail Blazing in James Mangold’s Spirited Racing Drama.

The portal also shared pictures of the movie's scenes where alcohol glasses and bottles have been blurred in the background. The move is clearly hampering the viewing experience given that we see massive blotches of blur when a character holds a glass in his hand. The film is being considered to be a strong contender in the Oscar race and it's a shame that CBFC will release the film's cut version in India, that also mutes the sentence ‘son of a bitch’ during an interaction in the film. Ford v Ferrari New Trailer: Christian Bale and Matt Damon are Determined to Win this War Against the Italian Luxury Sports Car Mogul (Watch Video).

Ford V Ferrari is all set to release in India on November. Twitterati too have reacted harshly to this move of CBFC. A user commented on this saying, "Ya. Because once they blur we don’t know they are drinking alcohol. In fact, it attracts more undeserving attention to alcohol & cigarettes. Makes me want get out of the theatre & get a drink. Ridiculous." A reaction from CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi is yet to come out regarding this move.
