One of the highly anticipated romantic comedies this summer, Fly Me to the Moon, will be released in the theatres on July 12. The film shines with a dazzling cast of Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum. Scarlett portrays the role of a marketing expert assigned with the job of polishing NASA's public image amid the Apollo 11 moon landing. She later crosses paths with Channing Tatum's character, who portrays the role of the space mission's launch director. The film is directed by Greg Berlanti and has a screenplay from Rose Gilroy. The first set of reviews for the highly anticipated film is here, with critics having mixed says about the form. ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ Premiere: Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson and Her Husband Colin Jost Arrive for the Special Screening of Greg Berlanti’s Film (View Pics).

Screen Rant: "Despite certain shortcomings, Fly Me to the Moon has ample charm. In recreating the days surrounding the Apollo 11 mission and the moon landing itself, Berlanti succeeds in evoking feelings of triumph and awe in his audience. This is the kind of movie I'd like to see more of, the kind that wears its heart on its sleeve and takes us on a ride. A meandering ride, sure, but even a long trip can have its perks."

The Guardian: "This misjudged and unfunny romcom about how the US government planned to fake the moon landing in case the real one tanked undermines the Apollo 11 achievement."

Empire: "With a stellar cast, an enticing ’60s setting and rocket-powered stakes, Berlanti's film has all the right parts to make a winning retro romcom, but the result is disjointed and underwhelming. Fly Me To The Moon shoots for the stars but never reaches those soaring heights."

Independent: "Fly Me to the Moon pushes romcom relatability to its very limits, with a premise that boils down to: “babe, would you be mad if I faked the moon landing?” As a quasi-historical take on America’s space race, it draws from the conspiracy theory that Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin never made it to the moon, a brand of delusion I’d worried was so time-old that it had finally gone out of style. Well, Hollywood has brought it back, just in time for its fans to enjoy the film while wearing one of those $100 tin foil hats rapper MIA now sells." Fly Me To The Moon Trailer: Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum Fake the Moon Landing for NASA’s Space Mission, Movie To Release in July (Watch Video).
