Having renewed his popularity in the internet space, fans have now petitioned on Change.org to name Keanu Reeves as Time magazine's Person of the Year. The tradition originally began with featured aviator Charles Lindbergh as the 'Man of the Year'. The title is usually bestowed upon the most influential people and is quite prestigious. Although the Person of the Year is announced in December, Reeves still has six more months to cement his place in the industry. But to fans, it seems like he has already found prominence. In one of the Spanish petitions as shared by Richard Salazar, the description goes like this - "Keanu Reeves has proven to be a person who positively influences everyone" and that his "modesty, simplicity, character, and human quality make him the most ideal person to be named person of the year." Twitter is also buzzing with people promoting Keanu Reeves to be the next Person of the Year. Well, when Reeves found out that he was noted as the internet's "favourite boyfriend", his reaction was super cute.
He told Entertainment Weekly, "That's wacky," and continued, "The positivity's great. It was really special how 'John Wick' was embraced, and working on 'Always Be My Maybe,' great. Ali Wong, Randall Park, just really wonderful artists and people, and it was just really cool to get a chance to play with them." We wonder how he will react when he finds out about this!
