Mary Poppins Returns is one of the biggest Hollywood release left to come out this year from the House of Mouse, i.e. Walt Disney Studios. The follow-up of the classic film Mary Poppins returns after decades with a new cast, but borrows some of the original characters. The biggest star addition is, of course, Oscar nominee Emily Blunt playing the lead as the magical nanny Mary Poppins. The trailer that has been released ended up grabbing its attention with its colourful visuals and musical interludes. However, for all the Indian fans, who expected to watch the film this year, be prepared to be disappointed. As per the latest update, Mary Poppins Returns' release date has been pushed to January 4, 2019. In the USA, the movie is coming out on December 19, 2018. This makes us wonder if Disney has shifted its Indian release next year to avoid clashing with other biggies coming out during the period. December 14 sees the release of Marathi film Mauli, and Hollywood superhero film Aquaman. December 21 has Shah Rukh Khan's Zero coming out, along with the multi-lingual Kannada film KGF. And of course, December 28 has Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's Simmba also coming out. The main reason for this postponement would, of course, be Zero, as theatres would look to give maximum screens to the Shah Rukh Khan film.
