Danny now works in a hospice centre where he uses his powers to comfort dying patients. He can predict when someone is dying and helps them to "sleep". It is here that Danny encounters Abra who like him possesses powers and soon teams up with her to defeat, Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot who prey on children with psychic powers.

The trailer is sure to hook you if you have watched The Shining. Whether it will be as scary as the prequel is difficult to say but given Danny's complex character, we can expect some good scares.
Apart from McGregor, the film also stars Rebecca Ferguson as the leader of The True Knot and Kyliegh Curran, in her debut, as Abra. The film also stars Carl Lumbly, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Bruce Greenwood in supporting roles. Doctor Sleep has been helmed by Mike Flanagan and is all set to release on October 30, 2019.
