Seven months after the rapper passed away after he was shot at a motorcycle dealership in June 2018, his girlfriend, Jenesis Sanchez, gave birth to their first child, a baby boy named Gekyume Onfroy. His mom, Cleopatra Bernand, shared the happy news of X's son's birth. But What Does Gekyume Mean?

XXXTentacion's son, Gekyume Onfroy, was born on January 26, 2019, seven months after his death. After announcing her grandson's arrival, X's mom was sweet enough to explain what the name 'Gekyume' means. Taking to her handle, Cleopatra Bernard explained that their family defined Gekyume's meaning as "a different state or "the next universe of thought." The name was decided before X's passing, and the rapper had even recorded a video explaining what the word means.

XXXTentacion's little one continues to stay with his girlfriend, Jenesis Sanchez. Celebrating her son's fifth birthday in Jan this year, Sanchez penned a heartfelt note on her Instagram handle and penned a heartfelt note for her baby boy. Sharing a cute picture of Gekyume in a creamish Gucci outfit, she wrote, "Can’t believe I have a 5-year-old, how time flies. Light of so many people’s lives when it was dark. Especially mine. Back in 2019, Jenesis Sanchez had to file a petition to legally have XXXTentacion named as Gekyume's father. Since the couple weren't married before his tragic passing, there were quite a few challenges to legally claim the boy as X's son.
