Did ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Trailer Hint at the Return of a Popular Marvel Villain Into the MCU?
The first trailer of Spider-Man: Far From Home was indubitably a lot of fun, but more importantly, it left us asking some very pertinent questions about the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe in general. Like, is the movie set before or after Avengers: Infinity War? Is Tony Stark still alive? How did they reset the damage done by Thanos at the end of Infinity War? The trailer might have ruined one of the most 'affecting' deaths in AIW, and yet it only deepened the mystery about the whole Spider-Man saga. The trailer is also filled with enough Easter eggs, but there is one that really caught our eye. It is a random passing shot and yet, holds huge implications for the future of the MCU Spider-Man. The scene in question has Peter Parker as Spider-Man swing across the skyline in New York City. In one bit scene, he passes the Grand Central Station behind which we see a building being constructed. Spider-Man Far From Home is Likely Set After Avengers: Endgame - Here's Why.
Keen-eyed Marvel fans would note that this building used to be Tony Stark's office before he converted into Avengers Tower. Later, after the events of Age of Ultron, he shifted the office to the Stark facility in the outskirts of the city. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, we learn that Stark has sold Avengers Tower, though we are never told to whom. There is no doubt that whoever has bought the building is almost as rich as Stark, if not more. Spider-Man: Far from Home - Sony and Marvel Released Two Different Trailers – Watch Them Here.
Marvels fans have immediately speculated that there could be two possibilities. The building could either be the Baxter Building, which marks the return of Fantastic Four in Marvel movies. Considering that Richard Reed aka Mr Fantastic and Tony Stark were good friends in comics, it makes sense.
However, it is the second possibility that makes better sense, considering this above scene is shown in a Spider-Man movie. The Avengers Tower might be getting converted into Oscorp. Yup, the office of Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin, whose son Harry Osborn is a close friend of Peter Parker, and later turns enemies. The Osborns have been an integral part of both the previous Spider-Man movie franchises and their inclusion in the Homecoming series was bound to happen. So can we expect the post-credit scene of Far From Home to be about the completed Oscorp building with our first glimpse of the Osborns?
