Did Black Panther's Blockbuster Success Prompt Avengers: Infinity War To Release A Week Early?

Indians might not need to cheer this bit of news, but Avengers: Infinity War's worldwide release date has been preponed to April 27 from May 4.

Indians might not need to cheer this bit of news, but Avengers: Infinity War's worldwide release date has been preponed to April 27 from May 4. The reason why we are saying that Marvel's Indian fans don't need to cheer is because it was already scheduled to release here on the same date. But with the new change, the rest of the world get to see the movie with us, especially North America. So what prompted this change of release date for what is touted as 2018's biggest movie? Perhaps, it has something to with its predecessor, which may been lesser in scope but is turning out to be Marvel's best in years.

Black Panther, having already crossed $700 million at the worldwide box office (the movie is yet to release in China), is all set to become Marvel's fifth movie to enter $1 billion club. It will follow The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War into the club. That said Black Panther will also be the first Marvel movie to make a billion dollars, that doesn't have Robert Downey Jr in the cast. So we have to wait and watch, when Black Panther crosses that much coveted mark.

So how does Black Panther play into the release date changes of Avengers: Infinity War? According to certain Hollywood reports, the character of Black Panther have become so popular that the fans are dying to see them in a movie soon. Since Wakanda play a major role in Infinity War, some of the characters like M'Baku, Okoye, Shuri and of course, Black Panther are making appearances in the movie. So therefore, this might have made the makers bring the release date earlier.

There is also the other fact that the American audiences would be avoid the spoilers. May is also the month that will also have two more Disney releases, even though they are not Marvel properties - Fox's Deadpool 2 and Star Wars spinoff, Solo: A Star Wars Story. All in all, a blockbuster month for Disney.
