Legendary writier, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee, a larger than life persona, has passed away. A statement was released by Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger said, “Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A superhero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain and to connect. The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart."

On the same even Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige paid his tribute and tweeted, “No one has had more of an impact on my career and everything we do at Marvel Studios than Stan Lee," Feige said. "Stan leaves an extraordinary legacy that will outlive us all. Our thoughts are with his daughter, his family and the millions of fans who have been forever touched by Stan’s genius, charisma and heart.”

Various celebrities who worked with and didn't work with Lee shared their grief over his death. A personal message was shared from Stan Lee's Twitter page which simply stated, "1922-2018. Excelsior". On the same, DC Comics also took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his death. "He changed the way we look at heroes, and modern comics will always bear his indelible mark. His infectious enthusiasm reminded us why we all fell in love with these stories in the first place. Excelsior, Stan," said their tweet.

On the same, actor Chris Evans tweeted, "There will never be another Stan Lee. For decades he provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy. He exuded love and kindness and will leave an indelible mark on so, so, so many lives. Excelsior!!" Robert Downey Jr shared a picture of himself with Lee along with a caption stating, "I owe it all to you,,, Rest In Peace Stan... #MCU #Excelsior #legend #rip #stanlee #TeamStark ( 📸 @jimmy_rich )"

Stan Lee lost his wife of 69 years, Joan B Lee, earlier in July. He is survived by two children, Joan Celia and Jan Lee. We hope the family finds peace in these trying times.
