James Gunn's eviction as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has shocked many, but the one who it has affected the most has been Dave Bautista. The former wrestler turned actor, known for playing Drax in the GOTG series and Avengers Infinity War, has been quite vocal in his dissent against Disney's decision to fire Gunn over some tasteless tweets. He had also encouraged his co-stars from the franchise to sign an open petition to back the director.

Now Bautista had thrown another salvo that may bring into question his future with Marvel Cinematic Universe, or for the matter any future Disney movie. He had threatened to leave if James Gunn's finished script for GOTG 3 is not used. Speaking to ShortList, he had said, "Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me. I’d be doing James a disservice if I didn’t. Nobody’s defending his tweets, but this was a smear campaign on a good man. I spoke to Chris Pratt the day after it happened and he’s a bit religious so he wanted time to pray and figure it out, but I was more like: f**k this. This is bullshit. James is one of the kindest, most decent people I’ve met."

It looks like Dave doesn't care whether Disney fires him or not, going by his below tweet -

Currently, his character in the GOTG is dead, thanks to Thanos' snap in Infinity War. So it is entirely up to the studios to revive the character in the upcoming Avengers 4, or let him stay dead. We do hope for the sake of the series, that the studio executives and Bautista come to a proper agreement. After all, Drax is definitely one of our favourite characters in the MCU>
