Before you watch Dark Phoenix on June 5, Here are some of the main X-Men characters who would make an appearance in this film. So let's revisit these mutant characters and their powers. Dark Phoenix Movie: Review, Story, Cast, Budget, Sequel, Box Office of James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Sophie Turner's X-Men Film

James McAvoy aka Professor Charles Xavier

Charles Xavier has been leading the X-Men family since he founded the Xavier's School for mutants. In earlier films, Xavier was the one who trained Jean Grey to control her telepathic and telekinetic powers. James McAvoy plays the famous Marvel character from The First Class. His powers include telepathy, inducing mental illusions, causing paralysis and erasing memories.

Michael Fassbender aka Magneto

Magneto is one of the strongest mutants who can control metal using his magnetic powers. He is Xavier's former best friend-turned-rival. Magneto who played the bad guy in the first two X-Men films, may play a positive character in Dark Phoenix. In the current premise, he has formed a community of mutant refugees with whom he resides on an island.

Jennifer Lawrence aka Mystique:

Raven/Mystique is Xavier's adopted sister who has the ability to physically mimic any living identity by merely touching it. In the past X-Men films, we saw her siding with Magneto and splitting with Xavier. Going by the comic book, Mystique plays a villain at first but Kinberg changed her character arc, making her join the good guys as she stands against the Dark Phoenix.

Nicholas Hoult aka Beast:

The Beast or Hank McCoy is a mutant with superhuman strength, large hands and feet and extreme intelligence. He is one of the founding members of the X-Men and later helps lead the younger generation of X-Men. Mystique/Raven is his love interest.

Sophie Turner as Jean Grey / Dark Phoenix:

A powerful mutant with powers similar to those of Charles Xavier, Jean can control minds with her telepathic and telekinetic powers. She is Xavier's gifted student who has mastered control over her powers. Although Jean is a positive character, she turns villainous when she's under the control of Phoenix. Sophie Turner even studied dissociative identity disorder and schizophrenia for her role.

Tye Sheridan aka Cyclops

Cyclops is a mutant who can attack with fire beams with his eyes. He also develops a good bond with Jean Grey that would help him to make her stable.

Alexandra Shipp aka Storm:

She is a powerful African mutant who can control the weather. Storm can bring cyclone and also strike lightning thunder as her core attribute.

Kodi Smit aka Nightcrawler:

Nightcrawler is a German mutant who can teleport from one place to another. In previous X-Men films, Nightcrawler made some useful contributions to the  X-Men team.

Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver:

Quicksilver is Magneto's mutant son who has the superhuman ability to travel with lightning speed and to stop time. Quicksilver is in the good books of the X-Men.

With the immortal Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) bidding an emotional farewell with his 2017 film Logan, it's certain that he would be sorely missed by the X-Men fans. But a scene in X-Men Apocalypse where Jean Grey restored Wolverine's memories has been raising expectations among fans of a Hugh Jackman cameo. But for now, there are no concrete reports.
