Chris Evans has officially wrapped up playing Captain America on screen! The actor, who took the role of Steve Rogers aka Captain America, has now retired playing the superhero onscreen. He first took the role eight years ago and has since then managed to inspire several kids to become as righteous as him.

The actor tweeted the same on his Twitter wall, "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day, to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honour. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful." That literally breaks our heart!

His tweet received various responses from industry folks who were quite touched by his tweet. Actors Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson expressed their sadness over the end of Cap' Am's role and tweeted the following, "I’m not crying. I’m weeping. There’s a difference," Ryan Reynolds tweeted.

"What a run you had brother. Congrats on breathing life into such an iconic character. Keep on keepin’ on," Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson tweeted. Chris Evans first took the role of Captain America in 2010 where he first played the superhero in The First Avenger. While he didn't have an extensive role in Avengers: Infinity War, the writers have promised that there will be a longer role for Cap' Am in the next instalment.

Avengers 4 is all set to release next summer, right after Captain Marvel's release. Fans of the franchise would know that Captain Marvel plays a pivotal role in the fourth instalment, which is kind of why they have made the standalone film, to get the audience to familiarise with the superhero.
