Within a couple of weeks, we will be having the first movie of 2019 from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck stars Brie Larson as the eponymous superhero, considered one of the most powerful beings in Marvel comics. Her non-superhero name is Carol Danvers and she is half-human, half-Kree. The movie is set in the '90s and reveals to us how Captain Marvel and Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) became acquaintances, while we get to know her origins. If you are aware of Captain Marvel, a moniker few characters have used by now, she also has another name - Ms Marvel, specifically for Danvers. And there is one thing about Ms Marvel that is not very acceptable to the woke world today - her tight-hugging 'swimsuit' like costume.
Some of the fans are eager to know if Brie Larson will appear in the costume. In an interview to Cinema Blend, MCU chief Kevin Feige revealed that they would be avoiding this look. He said, "If you look at the comics, the further you go back, the less clothes Carol Danvers seems to be wearing. Oftentimes it's a one-piece bathing suit basically, with outrageous comic proportions. … Brie pointed it out on the wall, and we went, 'Yeah … just so you know, that's not what we're doing.' She goes, 'OK. I didn't think so, but I'm glad you said that.'" Wise move! We really don't want another controversy of sexualising female costumes like Justice League did with the Amazonian warriors' outfits.
