Yes, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans! We have two Captains to fight Thanos! Joining Captain America and other Avengers is now what could be the most powerful superhero among them all (and it's a lady!), Captain Marvel. We have seen a hint of her arrival in the post-credit scene of Avengers Infinity War when Nick Fury is seen paging her before he gets obliterated by Thanos' snap. So Brie Larson arrives as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, an intergalactic superhero in what is MCU's first female superhero film.
The first trailer of Captain Marvel has landed and it gives us a real glimpse of the new superhero, even though it looks like Carol needs an intro about herself. She is a powerful being who lands on Earth during the '90s and discovers she has a past connected to this planet. Cue, a couple of popular Agents of SHIELD taking her in their fold, as she fights amnesia and shape-shifting Skrulls across space and Earth. ICYMI, here's the trailer of Captain Marvel!
Having watched it multiple times, there are some moments that really caught our attention here. Like these 11 below -
'Renegade Soldier'
We wonder why people don't take much notice of Carol in her Captain Marvel suit. Is it Halloween already? Also dig Fury's narrative there - "I know a renegade soldier when I see one, never occurred to me that one might come from above."
Two-eyed Fury!
Since the movie is set in the '90s, Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) has both his eyes intact. He is teaming up with Carol here and we will finally know what made him lose his one eye!
Carol goes Top Gun!
Well, Captain Marvel almost became a female-reboot of Tom Cruise's star-making vehicle. So when is this scene set? The '80s? And what happened to Lashana Lynch, who plays Carol's friend here?
The Skrulls
Is that Ben Mendelsohn as the leader of the shape-shifting Skrulls? Very curious!
Mar-Vell
Okay, what is making Jude Law's space hero look so worried? And those contacts! He is a cinch for Naagin season 4!
Welcome back Ronan!
Yes, that's the dead Guardians of the Galaxy villain Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace). Even his sub, Korath (Djimon Hounsou) is returning.
Captain Marvel is rude to old women? Or is she?
That's no old woman! She is a Skrull! Wonder how many people's appearances have Skrulls stolen on Earth. Any Avengers among them?
A young Phil Coulson
Not just a younger Nick Fury, we also see a young (and alive) Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) in the trailer too.
Is she flying or swimming?
Not sure, but that's one cool shot!
Target?
Who's the target, Nick Fury? And is that the pager that we saw at the end of Infinity War?
Captain Marvel in full power
That's one glorious scene!
Captain Marvel is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and is scheduled to release in March 2019. So how did you like the trailer of Captain Marvel? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
