Marvel continues its streak of making more than decent superhero movies, with Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson in the lead, also turning out to be another winner. Sure, it may not rank among the best of the films that are a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But then, it is not Thor: The Dark World or Iron Man 2Captain Marvel's biggest issue is its first half feels very rushed and at times, disjointed. The movie picks up our interest once it tags up Larson's Captain Marvel with a young Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson, with some amazing de-ageing effects). Captain Marvel Movie Review: Brie Larson Nails Her Superhero Outing and Gives You NO Reason to Complain.

It gets further better when Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and Maria Tambeau (Lashana Lynch) get involved in Captain Marvel's fight against the shape-shifting Skrulls. The third act is exhilarating and the visual effects are stunning, perhaps ranking among the best in MCU.

And then there are the post-credit scenes. While the after-credit scene is in the same vein as the ant playing the drumset in Ant-Man & The Wasp, it is the mid-credit scene that will leave you shocked at first, and then make you all cheered up. We are going to discuss what is going to happen in the post-credit scenes of Captain Marvel ahead. So if you want to avoid any SPOILERS about the film, please DO NOT READ further. Captain Marvel Movie Review: Brie Larson Leaves a Lasting Impression and Is Here To Stay, Say Critics.

The Mid-Credit Scene

As expected, the mid-credit scene plays directly into Avengers: Endgame. It features cameos from a still-bearded Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson), War Machine (Don Cheadle) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). The scene depicts that they have found the pager that Nick Fury used to ping Captain Marvel, before he got decimated by Thanos' snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. They try to figure out who he had been trying to contact when the pager stops beeping, even though the battery is still on power. Just as they decide to investigate what's the matter, Captain Marvel arrives, shocking the hell out of them!

So now you can expect the second trailer of Avengers: EndGame to feature more of Captain Marvel. Which also makes us ask this, if the surviving Avengers have the most powerful superhero amidst them, why were they looking so gloomy in the first trailer? Also what made Captain America take off his glorious beard?

The Post-Credit Scene

Goose The Cat is a definite scene-stealer. The unassuming-looking orangish furball looks like a normal cat to anyone at first. So we laugh when the Skree is shown being wary of it, and the Krulls find it more dangerous than humans. It is only towards the climax that we find out that Goose is an alien creature that can shoot tentacles out of its mouth and eat anything it feels as a threat. It swallows up the Tesseract to hide it, and in the post-credit scene, it vomits it out on Nick Fury's table, which explains how Fury gets possession of the artefact that hides the Space Infinity Stone.

Captain Marvel is directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. The movie also stars Jude Law, Clark Gregg, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace and Annette Benning. Captain Marvel will release in India on March 8.
