Avengers: Endgame is rewriting box office records not just in India but across the globe. The superhero film, which is directed by Russo Brothers, has been in the news since last year and rightly so considering its the last film in the super popular Avengers franchise. After stirring excitement and curiosity amongst fans, Endgame finally released last week around the world and immediately stormed the box office. While everyone expected the film to perform well at the ticket windows, it's safe to say that the Marvel movie has well surpassed all the expectations and predictions too.   • In the opening weekend, while the Marvel film raked in Rs 157.20 crore in nett collection, it grossed Rs 187.14 crore, making it the only Hollywood film to do so at the Indian domestic box office.
  • In India, Avengers Endgame has also surpassed all the big Hindi films and their opening weekend collections by a huge margin.

  • In the US, the superhero flick minted around $350 million over the first weekend, making it the biggest opening weekend in North America.

  • Endgame is the only second movie to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. And looks like all the hard work has paid off as the film has broken opening weekend IMAX records in 50 international markets.
  • Also, Endgame is said to have accounted for 87-90% of all revenue grossed at domestic theaters this weekend, making it the largest combined domestic weekend of all-time.

While Avengers: Endgame will continue to mint big moolah at the ticket windows, the big questions is  - will it become the highest grossing film in the history of cinema by beating James Cameron's Avatar?
