A new kind of hero arrives in cinemas this Friday as DC's Blue Beetle takes the center stage. Following Jaime Reyes' journey into being a superhero whether he likes it or not, the film has been a longtime coming as many DC fans are excited to see the popular character from the comics grace the big screen in great fashion. Also, not to mention that this one of the first big Latino superheroes getting the big screen treatment.

Representation really matters, and Blue Beetle offers that opportunity. Cast

Blue Beetle stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle and will be joined by Damian Alcazar as Alberto Reyes, Raoul Max Trujillo as Indestructible Man, Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, George Lopez as Rudy Reyes and Bruna Marquezine as Jenny Kord. The film also stars Adriana Barraza, Elpida Carrillo, Harvey Guillen, Becky G and more.

Plot

Blue Beetle follows Jaime Reyes, a kid who after finishing off his college is met with an alien scarab. Being chosen as a host by the said Scarab, Jaime bonds with it and becomes its symbiotic host receiving a suit that grants him immense powers and makes him the superhero known as the Blue Beetle.
