Black Panther, Marvel Cinematic Universe latest offering has set the Tomatometer on fire upon its release from critics. American actor Chadwick Boseman portrays the titular role of Black Panther aka T'Challa, the King of Wakanda in this all-black ensemble movie. The superhero film which is the 18th movie of MCU is already touted to be their best work till date. Backing the claims is Rotten Tomatoes Score of Black Panther, which has been certified ‘Fresh’. The movie based on Marvel Comics superhero, in fact, earned 100% till two bad reviews (out of 83) by the unimpressed movie critics dent its perfect ratings. Black Panther fans, you got to read these negative reviews.

The first critic to trash Black Panther is by Ed Power of Independent.ie. whose three-star ratings hurt the action-film on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviewing the film, Ed writes on the site, “Black Panther spirals into a stodgy tale of internecine feuding, in which T'Challa is required to come to terms with the sins of past generations. What he doesn't get to do much of is jump around beating up bad guys. That's a shame.” In his full-blown review, the critic has raised several questions especially over the performance of Boseman as Black Panther and how he does not beat bad guys enough! Ed’s bad review denoted by rotten green tomato splat on Tomatometer pulled the score to 99%.

Coming to the second bad review for Black Panther, which further descended the ratings by one rung to 98% is by Louise Keller for Urban Cinefile, an online entertainment magazine based out of Australia. Keller writes, ‘The trouble with the highly anticipated Black Panther is that it doesn't know what it wants to be: super hero extravaganza, activist action flick, James Bond wannabe or Coming to America.’ She further went on to compare 2017 Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot dissing the screenplay. Though Keller praised Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger, her overall review is not much in favour of the latest Marvel film. Black Panther’s approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes currently stands at 98% with an average rating of 8.4/10.

We first saw Boseman as Black Panther appearing in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and were instantly blown away by his calm demeanour as Prince T'Challa who has a high understanding of his role and responsibilities both as a royal and a superhero. In his 2018 stand-alone live-action film, the actor is impressing critics (move over these two). In fact, the craze has soared more seeing him in the trailers of upcoming Marvel film, Avengers: Infinity War. Black Panther is releasing on February 16 worldwide. Apart from Chadwick Boseman, the star cast includes Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
