2018 has been funnily a messy year for the Bollywood filmmakers. The serial postponement of the films, one after another, has affected the business largely. While people were still confused between watching PadMan and Aiyaary, the Hollywood biggie- Black Panther has taken away the limelight. While there was buzz about the box office clash between Akshay Kumar starrer and Sidharth Malhotra starrer, it is the Marvel movie that has won, unsurprisingly!  Marvel Studios’ Black Panther rules at the box office, adding yet another feather to Marvel’s glorious hat!

The movie opened at INR 5.6 Cr NBOC (Including 0.35 Cr from the paid preview shows held on Thursday evening). The GBOC as of day 1 is INR 7.18 Cr (Including paid previews) It is the highest opening for any Hollywood solo Superhero debut movie and the highest for any Hollywood film this year. Black Panther's Friday opening higher than any Hindi film of this Friday as well. Black Panther is Marvel Studios’ 18th film and the 1st this year, effectively setting the stage for its next mega release, Avengers: Infinity War.

Meanwhile, the box office numbers of PadMan and Aiyaary are not much impressive looking at the way the films touted to be! Call it the Padmaavat effect or the reshuffling of the release dates, the results that the makers had expected are not seen as of now. Also, the release of Black Panther too was neglected in the box office race, and from nowhere, the Hollywood gem has turned out to be the winner at the box office.  Have you watched Black Panther yet?
