The 2019 Super Bowl might have been a boring show for many, or so we believe considering the tweets that were circulating on social media. However, Demi Lovato had a rather eventful evening as she was slammed for her tweet about rapper 21 Savage.
Here's what exactly happened - On Sunday night, Demi sparked a new controversy when she tweets about 21 Savage, real name, Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, who was arrested, earlier that morning by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement for allegedly overstaying his visa. Born on the island of Dominica, a British colony, 21 Savage faces a possibility of deportation. As the reports of his arrests took over social media, Lovato too added her thoughts on it. She tweeted, "So far 21 savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl."
However, Lovato received criticism for it as Migos' Offset subtweeted the singer and wrote, "ALL THE MEMES AND S--T AINT FUNNY WHEN SOMEBODY GOING THROUGH SOME," the rapper wrote. "PRAYING FOR MY DAWG AINT S--T FUNNY HIS FAMILY [sic] DEPENDING ON HIM." Demi deleted the tweet and apologised on her Instagram story. She also shared tweets that she received in response to the 21 Savage comments she made. Many of them involved mentions of her overdose and were highly insensitive. The next day, Rexha took to Twitter to defend Lovat as she wrote, "To all the people who talked s--t to Demi you're F--KIN DISGUSTING. Attacking someone that is 6 months sober about her personal issues with drugs and mental health over a tweet is LOW."

To all the people who who talked shit to Demi you’re FUCKIN DISGUSTING. Attacking someone that is 6 months sober about her personal issues with drugs and mental health over a tweet is LOW.

Bebe went a little overboard too as she wrote, "Wanna talk s--t tweet me. Motherf--kers." Well, ladies sure got each other's backs, that's evident. Turns out, weeks ago, even Lovato had shown her support for Rexha on social media when she spoke about her weight woes. As Bebe wrote, "Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less than by their size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys," Demi commented, "F--king preach!!!" and added, "Love this and you for speaking your mind and using your voice!!!"
