Avengers Infinity War Box Office: Marvel Film Makes $641 Million Worldwide; 10 Important Records It Has Added to its Kitty

Avengers: Infinity War has managed to do the unthinkable! When Marvel announced that Infinity War will feature nearly every superhero they have brought in Marvel Cinematic Universe in one movie, no one expected them to make it this good. Especially since Joss Whedon left the reins to direct the movie, after handling The Avengers and its sequel, Age of Ultron. But thanks to their incredible work in the two Captain America movies, The Winter Soldier and Civil War, the Russo brothers proved to be much more efficient replacements for Whedon. And in the process, they pulled off the near-impossible in delivering a superhero movie that is high on spectacle, emotions, boasts of a fantastic villain in Thanos and delivers a head-smacking climax that will leave us excited for the next instalment due to arrive in 2019.

Thanks to the Marvel's audience-friendly branding and the pull of the Avengers, the movie has taken a fantastic start with $641 million worldwide collections on its opening weekend itself. This is easily the best debut weekend for any movie in the history of cinema. Even in India, it has done some wonderful business making Rs 94 crore in the opening weekend. It remains to be seen if Avengers Infinity War will manage to cross one billion worldwide in the first-week run. Luckily for the movie, it will release in Russia on May 4 and in China on May 11. China and Russia are two biggest international markets for cinema. If the movie finds the same favour in these two markets as the rest of the world, expect Infinity War to not only cross the $1 billion mark smoothly but also threaten Avatar's position in being highest grossing movie ever!
