So it happened! Avengers: Infinity War has beaten The Jungle Book to be the highest grossing Hollywood movie in India. And in both the cases, there is only one winner - Disney Studios. Both the movies have been produced by Disney, clearly showing the influence of the studio on the Indian demographic. Especially the Marvel series that has been going from strength to strength with every release. Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of the 18 movie journey that came before it, starting with 2008's Iron Man.
As per the latest update by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Avengers Infinity War has collected Rs 192.28 crore by the end of its second-week run. It has even managed to trump last week's Bollywood releases, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor's 102 Not Out and Rajkummar Rao's Omerta. With these earnings, the movie has managed to overshadow to lifetime collections of 2016's The Jungle Book in India in just two weeks. In the days ahead, it is a cert to be the first Hollywood movie to gross more than Rs 200 crore in India. It is also the second highest grossing movie in India this year, beating Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 2.

Overseas, Avengers Infinity War has been also the fastest to enter the one billion club in just 11 days, beating the record of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (another Disney Movie). The superhero ensemble movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It boasts of an ensemble cast with some major superheroes and villains like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), the Guardians of the Galaxy (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Vision (Paul Bettany), Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Thanos (Josh Brolin).
