Avengers: EndGame had a dream run at the box office, earning more than two billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Currently, it is the highest grossing movie of this year/decade. And yet it only retains the second position when it comes to the highest grossing movie of all time, lagging mere millions away from the topper, James Cameron's Avatar. So, perhaps, in an attempt to topple Avatar, Disney-Marvel released an 'extended' cut of the film, featuring bonus content to lure in more fans before Spider-Man: Far From Home arrives from July 2 onwards. This new version had released worldwide (save for India and certain other countries), and did manage to bring in a new mild surge of Marvel fans in the theatres. However, many of them were unhappy with the bonus content that the new version of EndGame had to offer.
As per official reports, the bonus content includes a video of director Anthony Russo thanking fans and informing them about the new content (that they have already come to watch). There is a tribute to the late Marvel comics creator Stan Lee (with the now-famous caption 'We Love You 3000'). The post-credit scene is a two-minute sneak peek from Spider-Man: Far From Home, a movie that will release within a week, that features Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) meeting Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) while he is tackling an Elemental.
The scene that annoyed the fans the most is a deleted one that was supposed to be an intro scene for Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) in his Professor Hulk avatar. The scene had him save a bunch of people from a building in flames before he gets a call from Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), requesting for a meet. LEAKED! Avengers: Endgame Re-release Bonus Scene Featuring Hulk Surfaces on the Internet.
The general consensus is that the scene is interesting (though the Professor Hulk's real intro in the final movie is far better and funnier). However, the fans were annoyed with the incomplete CGI in the scene, and calls out Marvel for not finishing the effects before sending it to the theatres. There are others who had high expectations from the bonus content overall, and were disappointed with what they got.

Oh no no no. The added scenes for #AvengersEndgameRerelease are an unfinished #Hulk scene where his mouth doesn’t move and a scene from the #SpiderManFarFromeHome trailer. For shame.

Got to see the #AvengersEndgameRerelease this afternoon. The bonus stuff wasn’t really worth the hype, but I was just happy to see the film again on a big screen 🤩😍😭 #ILoveYou3000

Why is @MarvelStudios even making it a selling point when it's not complete??! Then when everyone complaints they claim it's uncompleted CGI 🤐 #AvengersEndgame #AvengersEndgameRerelease @Avengers

I never tweeted out my thoughts about the rerelease last night. Anyways, the deleted scene sucked. I would’ve enjoyed a blooper reel or something else. The Stan Lee tribute was ADORABLE and I LOVE the poster! #AvengersEndgameRerelease

While EndGame's new version didn't have good new content to impress fans, the latter is still getting to theatres in a bid to make it outgross Avatar. At the time of writing this article, Avengers: Endgame is about $26 million short of Avatar's total collections. Interestingly, Avatar itself had an extended run, where Cameron had re-released the movie with more footage, thus getting to its final total. Avengers: EndGame, meanwhile, had already beaten the collections of Avatar's first theatrical run.
