Avengers Endgame Directors Russo Brothers Reveal Why Kneeling Tribute to Iron Man Was Cut from the Film

Avengers: Endgame directors Russo Bros say that the kneeling tribute felt incredibly similar to the moment when all of the heroes stood on the shore at Tony's funeral, thus the former was chopped from the final cut.

MCU's 22nd film Avengers: Endgame has created history. The movie has become the highest grosser of all time at the global box-office. The fan mania around the film is not dying anytime soon. Recently, a few deleted scenes of the movie made their way online, leading up to the Blu-Ray releases of the superhero film.  A certain deleted scene left fans sobbing and wondering why it was left out from the original cut. One of the original members of the Avengers, Tony Stark/Iron Man, sacrifices his life in the new film to save the universe. In the deleted footage, it is shown that all the remaining superheroes and humans who fought the battle along with him, kneel down to pay their last respect to the deceased. A melancholic scene that hits you in the gut.

So, it does make you wonder why a beautiful scene like this was removed from Endgame. We have our answer straight from the directors of the film, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo. The Russo Bros held an AMA session on Reddit earlier and answered some tough questions tosses at them by fans, including the exclusion of the mentioned scene.

"We found the Avengers kneeling scene incredibly emotional as well, but when played in the run of the film, it felt incredibly similar to the moment when all of the heroes stood on the shore at Tony's funeral, paying their respects to him outside his home," Joe Russo answered. "The two scenes, when in the film together, seemed to fight one another, and created a repetitious ending." Avengers Endgame: Here's Your Chance to See All the Deleted Scenes from Marvel's Biggest Superhero Outing.

We would like to argue with that but it does make sense. The impact that the funeral scene had would have been diminished if the kneeling scene was there in the film. But which scene did you think should have been in the movie? The funeral scene as it is? Or should it have been the kneeling tribute instead? Tell us by tweeting to us @latestly.
