Every day we are getting to learn some new information about what could be the biggest film of 2019, Marvel's Avengers 4. However, it is not necessary that all the information we have been hearing about the film is true. There have been trailer leak descriptions, title leaks (Avengers: Annihilation looks to be a strong candidate) and even the list of characters who could die in the film and who could be brought back. Now that latest bit of rumour going around has something to do with an aspect that Marvel has glamourised (though not begun) since 2008's Iron Man - the post-credit scene. Avengers 4 Trailer to Release on December 13?
Now Avengers 4 is touted as the culmination of all the movies that came before in the Marvel Cinematic Universe till now and is an opportunity for the fans to bid farewell to some long-standing superheroes like Captain America and Iron Man. So it is very intriguing to see what could be in the post-credit scene of a film that proves to be the final destination of many arcs, especially the Infinity Stones saga.
As per a report in Movieweb.com, Daniel RPK of SuperBroMovies, a Hollywood insider who usually gets accurate gossip about these movies, has revealed that the post-credit scene will be a promise of the future. It will lead to a new space-superhero team that Marvel is aiming at, after Guardians of the Galaxy - The Eternals. Chloe Zhao to Direct Marvel's The Eternals.
The post-credit scene will introduce to us two Eternals, as Daniel revealed, "They started looking to cast the roles of two of the Eternals RIGHT NOW. And there's a separate breakdown out just for the two of them. What this could mean is they may have a cameo or - most likely - they show up in a post-credits scene somewhere for an upcoming MCU film. The two Eternals are 'Karen' and Piper/Sprite. They will most likely show up in a cosmic Marvel movie so either Captain Marvel or Avengers 4. A4 is more likely."
For the uninitiated, The Eternals are celestials beings, a race that protects the Earth and other planets, fighting off another race of evil celestial beings called the Deviants. Those who are aware of Thanos' roots will know him to be an Eternal-Deviant hybrid, which is why his life-goals make sense - Wanting to save the world by destroying half of it.
While there is no official announcement of The Eternals movie, Marvel honcho Kevin Feige has earlier confirmed its existence. Since Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is in a limbo over director James Gunn's firing, Marvel will be looking at making The Eternals their next space-action wild card. Meanwhile, Avengers 4 is all set to release in May 2019, with the first trailer rumoured to land on December 13.
