It is troubled times at Disney and Marvel Studios ever since they controversially fired Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. The decision was taken after the studios were notified of some of the past tweets made by Gunn, where he joked about rape and child abuse. Many alleged that Disney has buckled under the pressure from the alt-right supporters, but Gunn's most vocal supporter was Dave Bautista, who plays Drax in GOTG series.
Dave has even warned Disney that he is only with them due to contractual obligations and that he would leave if they don't use the script Gunn has written for GOTG3, before he was sacked. Now in an interview with Good Morning Britain, the former WWE star has dropped a huge spoiler about the fate of some of the characters in the upcoming Avengers 4. So tread ahead with caution for, this is dangerous territory if you are a Marvel fan.
If you have seen Avengers: Infinity War, the film ended with Thanos getting all the six Infinity Stones and snapping his fingers to wipe half of the universe out of existence. Many superheroes also get killed in the process, including most of the Guardians too. This also includes Drax.
Now Bautista reveals that there is a high possibility that we will see more of the Guardians in the upcoming Avengers 4. He said, "We definitely see more Guardians in the upcoming Avengers, which we’ve already shot." So is he not worried about Disney taking his case for telling the fans this info? Bautista added, "Oddly enough, I guess I wasn’t supposed to say anything, but I was already saying before Avengers 3 was released that I had already filmed (Avengers 4) and I was signed up for Guardians 3. So I must come back somehow. ...It’s comforting, but at the same time I felt a sense of guilt because I don’t know if I was supposed to say anything. And nobody told me not to say anything." Bautista also hinted that there is a possibility that Marvel might bring him back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol III (the production of the film has been stalled, and there is a chance that it might not get made at all).
What Bautista revealed is something that fans always knew was going to happen - that the dead Avengers will return in the fourth Avengers movie. However, we are sure that Disney executives might not take kindly to Bautista dropping spoilers everywhere. Avengers 4, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, is scheduled to release in May 2019.
