Ant-Man and the Wasp Trailer: Can Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly's Superhero Romp Help Us Get Rid of Avengers Infinity War Blues?
It is scheduled to release on July 13.
When Avengers: Infinity War had ended, the audience in our show were in pin-drop silence as they couldn't believe what they saw on screen. It was the boldest climax ever seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where (SPOILER ALERT) several heroes are killed at the snap of Thanos' fingers. Once the movie was over, we had this one question to ask - what about Ant-Man and Hawkeye? They were totally absent from the movie, so we don't know if both of them got obliterated by the snap too. Ant-Man fans can take heart in the fact that their hero's movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives after Infinity War. But don't be too confident!
Before we get to discussing why Ant-Man could be in danger, let talk about the new trailer that has landed some time back. The trailer shows that Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) has been under house-arrest for his participation in the events of Civil War. But he soon gets to doing both his miniature and giant-sized superhero antics when new threats arrive in the form of Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost and Walton Goggins' Sonny Burch. And he is not alone, as Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne also gets to don her Wasp suit, and she looks more badass than Ant-Man, that too with wings.
There are some fantastic action sequences, one involving a giant salt-shaker and the other is an interesting car-chase with a shrinking car. The humour sticks well. The final scene of the trailer is quite hilarious with Lang and Laurence Fishburne's Bill Foster / Goliath discussing their 'sizes'! It looks like Ant-Man and the Wasp might get us rid of the Infinity War blues? Or will it?
Ant-Man and the Wasp is directed by Peyton Reed and also stars Michael Douglas, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer and Randall Park. It is scheduled to release on July 13.
Now let's talk about why Ant-Man could be in trouble despite the movie coming out after Infinity War. While the movie is following up after Marvel's biggest superhero film, the events shown in Ant-Man and the Wasp follow Captain America: Civil War and therefore is set before or during what's happening in Infinity War. So there is quite a chance that either Ant-Man or the Wasp will disappear perhaps during the post-credit scene. Leaked set pictures from Avengers 4 show Paul Rudd with the surviving Avengers, therefore we might have to worry more about the Wasp!
