Evangeline Lilly's revelations come in the wake of the #MeToo movement getting stronger by the day.

Before she was known for her starring roles in The Hobbit series and the Ant-Man films, Evangeline Lilly was very popular among the television fans for her role as Kate Austen in the mystery thriller series, Lost. However, the experience of shooting for this cult classic series didn't go too well for the actress, it seems. Recently, in an interview to Lost Boys podcast, Lilly revealed that she was totally unhappy doing the partially naked scenes in Lost.

Speaking at the podcast, she said, "In Season 3, I’d had a bad experience on set with being basically cornered into doing a scene partially naked, and I felt had no choice in the matte. And I was mortified and I was trembling and when it finished, I was crying my eyes out and I had to go on do a very formidable, very strong scene thereafter. In Season 4, another scene came up where Kate was undressing, and I fought very hard to have that scene be under my control and I failed to control it again. And so I then said, ‘That’s it, no more. You can write whatever you want — I won’t do it. I will never take my clothes off on this show again,’ and I didn’t."

In view of her confessions, the showrunners of Lost, JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cuse, and Jack Bende, have issued a statement where they apologised to Lilly for any discomfort they have caused her during the shoot.  The statement read, "Our response to Evie’s comments in the media was to immediately reach out to her to profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on Lost. We have not yet connected with her, but remain deeply and sincerely sorry. No person should ever feel unsafe at work. Period."

Evangeline Lilly's revelations come in the wake of the #MeToo movement getting stronger by the day. The women-empowering movement has encouraged many actresses to come out and show their dissent against the experiences that they feel discomfort about.
