Hollywood biggie Aladdin released in India yesterday alongside India's Most Wanted and PM Narendra Modi. While the two Bollywood releases failed to pack a solid punch at the ticket windows, Will Smith starrer Aladdin got cash registers ringing on the opening day itself. In fact, it raked in more money than both the Bollywood films which is mighty impressive. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the live-action movie also stars Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, and Billy Magnussen in significant roles. Emerges the first choice of moviegoers, eclipsing the biz of new films and holdover titles... Summer vacations + family-friendly content should ensure growth on Day 2 and 3... Fri ₹ 4.25 cr Nett BOC. India biz. Gross BOC: ₹ 5.06 cr. All versions."
Further, Boxofficeindia.com stated, "Aladdin comfortably beat the two Hindi films as it collected in the 4-4.25 crore nett to be the top film this Friday. It beat the new releases India's Most Wanted and PM Narendra Modi and it also beat the holdover De De Pyaar De. The collections of Aladin are similar to the two Hindi films put together. The growth of Aladdin should be huge on Saturday as it is a film for kids and families so multiplexes will show huge jumps.
