Despite a stellar cast that includes Jamie Dornan, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, and Kelly Reilly, among others, the movie isn't that impressive a watch.

Here is the review roundup of A Haunting in Venice:
Indian Express: The problem with A Haunting in Venice is the execution. Having set the stage, Kenneth Branagh and Michael Green, credited as writer along with Agatha Christie, seem to have run out of imagination, and taken the most convenient, obvious route to tie the loose ends together.
The Guardian: A Haunting in Venice takes the story at a pretty even pace, and its jump-scare moments, sometimes accompanied by a close-up of Poirot looking dramatically to his left, do not have the investment that an true horror film would have given them, and so feel just like a hiccup. News Bytes: Despite a stellar cast that includes Jamie Dornan, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, and Kelly Reilly, among others, the movie isn't that impressive a watch. Branagh could have done a better job of mixing horror with a thriller, had he learned more about the spooky genre. Minus horror, it does pass as a decent murder mystery.
Los Angeles Times: Branagh’s Poirot, himself a World War I veteran, has bared his own physical and psychological scars in this series before. For the first time, though, his backstory doesn’t feel concocted for effect. Instead, it subtly resonates with a case whose rich human dimensions — deferred dreams, unshakable traumas, grieving parents and children — sound a grim echo of the world beyond the whodunit. For all the creakily derivative supernatural hokum on display, the ghosts that haunt this movie turn out to be all too persuasively real.
The Hindu: A Haunting in Venice wears its decadent luxuriousness proudly on its sleeve with the warm lamps throwing sinister shadows that contribute to a glowing gloom as Poirot reveals the dark secrets hidden in normal hearts. The clothes are lovely as are the sets and that clock with the Garden of Eden theme is the cherry on the mysterious cake — bellissimo!
