Each week in Next Noise, we spotlight rising talent who are poised to become your new favorite artist. This week, we delve into the story of FyaVerse, the fast-rising Jamaican Dancehall fusion artist, who is taking his unique sound to international heights. From his humble beginnings in Manchester to his growing global fanbase, FyaVerse is making waves, and his mission to represent Jamaica’s musical heritage while embracing modern influences is catching fire.

Amid the vibrant streets of Kingston, where Dancehall culture pulses through every corner, a new sound was born. FyaVerse, born Fabian Wayne Edwards, grew up in an environment filled with both challenges and inspiration, a mix that shaped the music he creates today. He recalls the struggles of his early life, surrounded by the everyday realities of life in Jamaica’s capital, yet finding solace and passion in music. Now, he’s combining the grit of those experiences with a genre-bending approach, creating music that resonates far beyond his homeland.

“I grew up with Dancehall all around me, but I also wanted to explore sounds from other parts of the world,” FyaVerse tells us. “My goal is to take what’s Jamaican and fuse it with everything else that I vibe with—from Afrobeats to Pop to Hip-Hop. It’s all about creating something new but keeping it authentic.”

FyaVerse’s breakout moment came with his single "To My Island," which fused traditional Dancehall rhythms with modern production techniques. The track quickly caught fire across social media platforms, with fans celebrating the artist’s fresh take on the genre. His music is a mix of powerful, infectious beats and lyrics that speak to personal and societal struggles, drawing listeners into his world.

What sets FyaVerse apart from many of his contemporaries is his ability to weave narrative-driven lyrics into a commercial sound. Tracks like "Criminal Lover" and "Her Appearance" explore topics such as identity, inequality, and resilience, while maintaining the high-energy vibe that makes his music so appealing in clubs and on radio alike.

However, his journey hasn’t been without its challenges. FyaVerse has faced skepticism from traditionalists who question his fusion of Dancehall with other genres. “I’ve had people tell me I should stick to one sound, that I can’t mix Pop with Dancehall,” he says. “But I believe music has no limits. Jamaica is the foundation, but my music has wings.”

Since the release of his debut single, FyaVerse’s popularity has surged both in Jamaica and overseas. Collaborations with established stars such as Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Danjay Seduction and international producer ChevoBeatz & Dejuan Records  have helped him solidify his place in the evolving global music scene. And despite his success abroad, FyaVerse remains deeply connected to his roots, often returning to Jamaica to collaborate with local artists and support up-and-coming talent.

“I always want to give back to my country, to help others see that we can create a global impact from right here,” FyaVerse explains. “I’ve got big dreams, but Jamaica is always going to be a part of me, no matter where I go.”

FyaVerse’s sound isn’t the only thing evolving. His visuals and stage performances have garnered him praise, with critics noting his ability to connect with audiences on an emotional level. His live shows, full of energy and passion, are rapidly becoming must-see events, whether in Kingston, London, or New York.

The future looks bright for the 24-year-old artist. With plans to release a full-length album in the coming months, FyaVerse promises to continue pushing boundaries, experimenting with new sounds, and expanding his reach. His growing fanbase, currently streaming his music by the thousands, is eagerly awaiting what’s next.

“I’ve only just started,” he says confidently. “There’s so much more I want to do—whether that’s blending Reggae with electronic music or bringing in orchestral elements to Dancehall. I’m always thinking about the next step.”

As FyaVerse continues to rise, he’s not just representing Jamaica’s vibrant music scene; he’s reshaping it, making Dancehall more accessible to the world while staying true to its cultural roots. In a world where genres increasingly blend, FyaVerse is proving that the future of music is fusion.
