And if what we gather from our sources is true, then there's a solid reason why Illeana D'Cruz who was considered to be the first choice for the leading lady part opposite Devgn, has been conveniently replaced by Kajol. While one may wonder if Devgn is interested in 'keeping it all in the family', therefore Kajol has been roped in, well... there's probably more to this story than what meets the eye.

It is Ajay Devgn's ever-growing equation with Barfi star which is cited to be the reason why Kajol is more keen on playing the leading lady in Taananji. "After working with Illeana in Raid and in Baadshaho, Ajay Devgn has been bonding heavily with Illaena. Kajol is not particularly happy with this friendship. Scheduled to be released on November 22, 2019 Taanaji is based on Marathi Subedar Taanaji Malusare, who led the army of the great Maratha warrior King Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Touted as one of the most expensive movies of the recent times, Taanaji is a larger-than-life period drama. "It's not that the film has steamy scenes or very high on romance sequences but, Kajol did not want Illaean to be part of any of Ajay's movies henceforth hence the replacement!" concluded the source!
