Ed Sheeran's song 'Shape of You' made the world fall in love with him all over. he gained a massive fanbase all over the globe just with that one hit maker. In fact, his identity shifted from the 'Thinking Out Loud' singer to 'Shape of You' singer. There came along various covers and versions of the track in different languages. However, looks like he could not enjoy all this success, at least penny wise. The singer has now sued another singer named Sam Chokri for stopping him from receiving the royalties of this extremely popular song.
As reported in The Sun, the legal battle started when Chokri filed a complaint against Sheeran with Performing Right Society (PRS) for allegedly copying a major portion of the song from 'Oh Why.' PRS then ruled in favour of Chokri putting Shape of You in an indefinite mode. After this decision, the British singer did not get any revenue out of £20 million the song.
According to the reports, Sheeran's lawyers filed a lawsuit in London's High Court saying Chokri's actions have damaged the reputation of the singer that has also affected his revenue streams."Ed’s always been very upfront and honest about his writing. This seems little more than a ridiculous claim against him."
