The poster of Huma Qureshi's upcoming Netflix miniseries Leila was released today. The series is all set to stream from June 14 and looks intriguing. Based on Prayaag Akbar’s book by the same name, the series stars Rahul Khanna, Sanjay Suri and Arif Zakaria in key roles. It revolves around Shalini (portrayed by Qureshi), a mother struggling to find her daughter whom she lost during one summer. The series is divided into six episodes and has been directed by Deepa Mehta. While we are super excited to watch this dystopian drama, the poster of the series with a blindfolded Huma Qureshi has reminded us of a few other posters which look a tad bit similar.

On the poster of Leila, Huma is seen with a blindfold with a yellow cloth wearing a marron saree and a beaded necklace. Earlier, a similar poster was released for an X Box game called Homefront developed by Kaos Studios. It also featured a person with a red blindfold along with a star sign on it in a similar manner and it seems Leila may have taken inspiration from this. Leila New Poster: Huma Qureshi Is Blindfolded in Faith and Committed to Her Cause – View Pic

Not just this game, but we have also seen Katrina Kaif and Saif Ali Khan blindfolded in the tricolours for the poster of their 2015 film Phantom. The film starred Katrina Kaif in the role of an Indian special agent.  Recently, another the Netflix film starring Sandra Bullock in lead, Bird Box too had a similar poster with the actress and her children sporting blindfolds. The film became popular thanks to this concept and even created social media frenzy with what became popular as 'Bird Box' challenge. The post-apocalyptic thriller film and Leila share a similar genre.

Leila is slated to air from 14 June on Netflix. In the meantime, tell us what do you think about the similarities in these posters?
