Karan wanted Vijay to make this Hindi film debut with the remake of Dear Comrade

Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's Dear Comrade hit the theatres on July 26, and it managed to impress both the critics and masses alike. But before anyone could see this film, it was Karan Johar who saw it along with Vijay and Bharat Kamma, who has directed the film. Karan knew that the movie is going to be loved by a huge set of people, which is why he brought the remake rights immediately and announced it on his social media accounts that he will be remaking it in Hindi under his production banner, Dharma Productions. He loved the film so much that he didn't even mind paying Rs 6 crore to buy the Hindi remake rights of Dear Comrade, a Times Of India report said.

Now according to Mumbai Mirror, Karan didn't mind shelling out another Rs 40 crore for this film. Reportedly, he wanted Vijay to star in the Hindi version, as the filmmaker thought that it will be his perfect Hindi movie debut. Apparently, he even offered that huge sum of money to him. However, the report further states that Vijay politely refused the offer. Not many know this, but Vijay was apparently offered to star in Kabir Singh, which is the recently released Hindi remake of his Telugu film, Arjun Reddy. Clearly, he declined that offer too and Shahid Kapoor stepped into his shoes for the film. Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade Fails to Mint Big Figures at Box Office, Will the Hindi Remake Be Dropped?

Well, so Karan's search for a lead pair for the Hindi remake of Dear Comrade still continues. As he revealed at an event recently that no one has been approached or considered for the film after rumours of Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor reuniting for this one made way to social media. Word also has it that Karan was not the only one who was looking to remake Dear Comrade in Hindi as Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Vijay Galani were trying to buy the remake rights as well. Clearly, Karan's bid was the highest and we can't wait to see what he will do with this.
